I have been having lower abdominal pain on and off with some spotting for a few weeks now, my doctor has me scheduled for an ultrasound, but they can't get me in until next Wed (she thinks I may have an ovarian cyst) is there any type of blood work or other testing I should request in the mean time, to find out what's wrong, or is an ultrasound the only way? I am feeling a little lost here...Thanks

when i had an ovarian cyst they gave me an ultrasound.a blood test is not going to show that you have a cyst. i would try to see if you can get an appt. sooner if possible. if not just take some tylenol until your appt. when the give you an ultrasound they will be able to see everything and will be able to tell you what is going on.

Ultrasound is an excellent way to determine what's going on. I think she's right on target with that suggestion. If she were very concerned she'd be running other tests.

The sonogram will find any cysts. If your doctor is concerned about anything else then he'll order more blood tests and check your cholesterol, Prolactin, and insulin levels

An ultrasound is a good idea. Has he taken any bloodwork from you? That may be another option. That can tell alot of what is going on.

Sorry, but I don`t know. However, I read your answer to a question and wanted to let you know that I have information on Hogwarts. J.K. Rowling apparently has friends who studied there. Some of the information was changed or incorrect (I don`t know which) in her books though. If you are believe in it, or think you might, email me at HailyChampion@yahoo.com

well i think the dr probably will do one thing at a time, most probably so your not paying for a million different tests.....trust him, he knows what he is doing, and if you dont trust him or are not sure, make an appointment with another doctor and get another opinion....
