So after a year of playing a squier strat, I decided, that I need a new electric guitar. My focus is on the two Gibsons (Flying V and SG).
Both seem good and worth buying, but I only have money for one (for now).
So, I'm asking you for youre opinion. Witch one is better/worth buying? What are the good and bad sides of theese beuties?
BTW: Both guitars are sold in the same store so I'll try 'em both before purchase. I also play rithm guitar in a rock band.
Tnx for the anwsers.

I think you should only get a flying v if you are playing live shows often, or unless you like to stand while you play. if you have a flying v, its pretty hard to sit down and set it on your leg, because of the V shape.

SGs are classic, they have phat tones, the neck is a lot bigger and longer than any fender type guitar, so you better have a strong hand.

explore more options, like a les paul, or a thin hollow body, also, look into "Heritage" brand. they are a company that was formed by a lot of the old Gibson guys when they were forced to move from the original plant. I have one and I love it.
hope that helps

Great question ! Both models are excellent guitars. The only drawback to the Flying V is for practice purposes. If you plan on sitting down to play when you practice you will want to go with the SG. The Flying V is almost impossible to keep on your lap when sitting down.

Go with the Gibson SG, the sound is much crisper and pure.
