The bug I asked about earlier turns out to be a leaf-footed bug (Hemiptera: Coreidae) or Cedar bug. Anyone ever deal with these or know how to get rid of them?

Yep! If they are outside use Sevin dust or liquid. If they are inside vacuum them up and fill all the cracks and holes in your house with caulk and a caulk gun. Hard but very effective at keeping out all kinds of bugs & spiders.
