Accessories that are invaluble:
Cigaretteholder
Davidoff cigarette/cigarillo
Peacock/swan feathers (not in your hair, that's too much. Wear 'peacock-style' jewelery with the right shapes)
Beaded dress/fringed
A long string of ceramic beads
CLOCHE HAT
&
square toe shoes (flats, never heels, unless you're very short).
And remember...it's pronounced 'dahhhhlingg'

Check out Goodwill or thrift store first - I bet you can find a dress that you can make into a flapper's dress. You are mainly looking for a very sleek, tank dress in slippery fabric. You could even go with a heavy duty slip - and dye it. You then can go to Wal-Mart or another fabric store and buy about 2 yards of fringe. Hot glue this on the bottom of your dress. Ideal would be to have at least two rows on the bottom of your dress - just so it will shimmy when you shake your butt. Next - long pearls (again you can buy these at the fabric store), and/or a long feather boa. You will need to make a little headband to go around your head, and attach either a piece of jewelry or some feathers to it. Long gloves - over the elbow type can be worn. You can carry a small purse or a long feather fan. Remember flappers wore rolled hose with garters. Don't forget your red lipstick - paint a cupid's bow mouth, and a little beauty spot on your cheekbone.

Well for a flapper costume you need a long necklace and a sleeve less dress that is straight and does not have much shape. You can probably make something like this or find it. Just do a google search for images. Look on ebay to see if they have a cheap one. See if you have a local buffalo exchange for one or look at good will. Just look for an image and try to duplicate the look. You can buy a junky one at a costume store. As to what you are asking about a fake bag I have no clue what you are taking about. You can find fake everything on ebay and you also can find fake things in big cities.

I would try a vintage clothing shop (unique and good prices!) and look for a cocktail dress with fringes in red or black. They might also have a fake designer bag as well. If you can't find any there, I'd check out your local Halloween store. I'm sure they'll have a flapper dress available there. Then add long gloves, a feathered headpiece, a long pearl necklace, pantyhose, cigarette holder, and Mary Jane shoes. You'll be rockin' the flapper look! :)

RE:
How do I create a flapper costume?
Where do I buy the outfit? Where's the palce with the best price? What accessories should I use?
Also, my fallback option is a regular Hollywood person where can I get a fake Prada bag? it doesn't even have to be a good knockoff...just a cheap one and people will recognize the effort...?

Fast and simple way. My daugher wanted to do this this year. Find a straight dress on clearance that is stiny or shiney. Add fringe all the way around and all over, top to bottom. You can take a heanband that nmatches and attach feathers to it. also long long pearls for a necklace is a must. Not a do-it-yourself person a costume store should have this.

straight satin dress go to a crafty store and get the fringed trim (can get it at Walmart too) and sew it on in straight lines along the dress, Get a long string of pearls (also in the trim section) to wear, should hang past your waist. knot them. the headband would be a stretchy sequined trim about 2-3" wide. (also in trim section) long enough to fit around your head and stay in play comfortably. Should also be able to find a few feathers to stick in the side.
fishnet tights to finish it off.

Good advice from the others on the dress and headband. Additionally, a long-stem cigarette holder. Gotta be heavy on the eyeliner all around the eyes and light powder, could be flour. Fake beauty mark. Ringlet curls on the hairdo. Great Depression going on during that time. Perfume is lilac water and/or vanilla extract behind the ear. Bathtub gin if the party is at your house. Rootbeer in the front part of the house.

You will need to obtain a large flap for the flapper costume. Good luck.
