the only thing that shows on me is my bra strap. that's only because i wear spaghetti straps and tank tops. during the winter nothing shows cuz its to freaking cold to wear a spaghetti strap. during the summer is to freaking hot not to wear one. i don't go for the trashy look though. everything stays covered except the strap and most of it is covered too. i don't wear thongs! those would be unconfrotable as hell. sides that women spend all day trying to dig things out without people noticing. why would somebody perposely put something in!!!!!!!!
anyways i think it is okay to show your bra strap only when wearing a tank top or spaghetti strap. then it cant be helped

Part of it seems to be that friggin' "Sex and the City". Remember when Carrie took to wearing backless dresses with bras that you could see? That was and remains SO damned tacky. What I DON'T mind is when a coordinating brastrap is worn with a tank top. They make those straps a little too thin, and I don't think you should have to sacrifice wearing a bra to wear a tank top. However, if you're wearing a strapless dress, you either need to invest in a strapless bra or leave the strapless dress alone. And in case you didn't know, those clear plastic bra straps are no less visible.

There are definitely changes in values that have taken place over the last, say, twenty or thirty years, and girls are wearing much more revealing clothing than ever before.
As a guy, I don't complain a lot about it, to be truthful, but I will say that it looks especially bad when someone wears something wildly inappropriate for their physical condition.
An example is the bare midriff look. If you work hard on your fitness and you want to show off your abs, ok. But if you weigh 400 pounds and can't see your feet any more, definitely not a good look for you.

Yeah uh well that sucks. But seriously public school isn't all that it's cracked up to be. I wouldn't have minded going to a private school, but it sounds like the one you're being forced into is kinda crazy religious. Try to talk your mom in sending you to a better private school. School is about education after all and if all they're teaching you is about how to be missionaries that's not going to help you in the real world (unless that's what you want to be but it doesn't sound like it). If your mom doesn't listen, well this isn't exactly "good" advice but what i would do is just try to get expelled. Don't do anything crazy or something that can get you in juvie, but something where they won't want you anywhere near the school. Hell, that's what I would do. Good luck.

I agree - underclothes should be worn under your clothes. There is nothing sexy about seeing a bra strap or a thong in my opinion. Wearing clothes that fit and flatter the body, now that's sexy.

They think it looks sexy... although I think it looks trashy. Matter of opinion I guess.
I'm wondering when young men (and some adults) will start pulling their pants up to where they're supposed to be! This bothers me more than seeing bra straps.

I don't really care about seeing a stray bra-strap, but seeing thong underwear sticking out from pants is about the skankiest, nastiest thing I ever see. ...that and it's usually accompanied by a "tramp-stamp."

I think everybody's too influenced by actors/actresses, and so if they walk around half-naked without hiding anything then it makes it ok. I agree with you that it's too private to be walking around with undergarments showing. I still love the old school look where "sexy" did not necessarily mean trashy.

I agree with you -bras and underwear are meant to be hidden. I think it's classless when bra straps and underwear are showing. What happened to modesty?
