I have a fetal doppler monitor and when I put it to my lower left abdomen real close to my pubic bone I hear that beautiful swooshing hearbeat that I heard with my first two pregnancies. With them I did not hear it until later (11 or 12 weeks). Is it possible that is what I am hearing now? What are the possibilities that I will miscarry now that I have heard that sweet sound? I have had two previous miscarriages, neither of which got to this stage...I am scared. Afraid to get happy for fear of getting "smacked" back into an awful reality...

It is possible you have heard the baby but it is also possible you are hearing an echo of your own. I don't know how many times I used to do that. Once you hear the babies heartbeat miscarriage rate drops since most miscarriages are due to blighted ovum. Good luck sweetie!!

I didn't think it was possible to hear the heartbeat until 12 weeks, but you can see it on ultrasound. You may be the exception though. Usually detecting the heartbeat decreases your chance of miscarriage significantly.

No, When I had to go to the hospital I was only 12 weeks and they was STILL skeptical on getting the babies heart beat. Although they DID find it. Usually you can't find it till later. With MY home one I JUST found my babies and I am 20 weeks and I use "bebe sounds"! BEST WISHES!

Yes, that's how my doctor knew I was further along than they originally thought. I was 9 weeks at my first visit, and heard it.

Yes you can. You can usually hear it at around 8 weeks.
But what you might be hearing also is blood flow to the uterus.
