Door FRAME is not level and/or 'square'.
You'll need Hammer, Screwdrivers, Door shims, 2' level, Flat-bar/Pry-bar/Wonder-bar, 4-5 x #8 5" wood screws
With door remaining in its frame but opened to allow work, check to see if the floor sill plate is flat level. Check both outside and bottom of frame, at its hinge & doorknob sides. If out of plumb(up/down) or not level (flat) look inside of frame for single screw heads in frame or in hinge plate for unsual screwheads or holes. Likely these are the places that you'll find the long frame screws that fasten the door frame to its wall studs surrounding the door.
Reverse these screws, you'll find them from 3" to 6". There should be at least 4 screws, two in each side of the frame. At the hinge and doorknob sides. Another screw might be overhead.
Once all FRAME screws are backed out the door frame is now free to reposition.
Level and shim frame making sure to square the frame with its door as your guide. The space around the frame and door should remain even, assuming the door has never been plaind or shaved to fit a crooked door space.
Use new screws and fasten once frame is level and plumb.
1 hrs work.

they just had this on Ask This Old House ( or whatever the show is called )
you have to take the door off of the hinges, then where
the hinges go put some carboard then screw the hinges
back into place, hope this works for you as well as it
did for them
good luck !

the door probably isn't level so you might have to shim the hinges so that it is. That should keep the door open
