Do you think we females don't have the capacity to have many word to select from??? Yes, the word Gut, as in gut reaction, gut feeling or gut the fish. I am sure the ladies will come up w/more combinations to let you know that we too use the gut word. I am older than some yet younger than others. lol.

I don't really use the word gut. Maybe like "gut instinct" but that's about it. Is it something I'm missing? Oh well. By the way I'm 23.

Yes, I use it regularly as in "knowing something in your gut" or by your intuition. I am 55. To me, this not a gender-specific word. So, I don't think I'm conscious of whether my audience is male or female.
I don't use the word often to describe a part of the body as in "sucking in your gut".
I would be more likely to use it as a verb as in "to gut someone".
I'm curious about why you ask.

When Im talking about somethings anatomy maybe. But I normally use stomach, abdomen, tummy over "gut" unless there is some specific discussion of what is inside the deep internals.

I say "I had a gut feeling." It doesn't matter who I'm around - it's interchangeable with "I just knew," "I had a feeling," "It was my intuition." I'm in my late 20's.
