I'm doing courious George and the man in the yellow hat, but i can't seem to find the yellow hat costume for my son..can anyone help? i would be willing to make it too i just need to get a list of supplies....

The last answerer gave some great ideas on costume patterns. I'd just like to tell you that this is an awesome idea, very cute. Too many kids dress up like Disney cartoon characters -- it's nice to see someone still reads to her children!
For fabric, I'd highly recommend Jo Ann Fabrics. And believe it or not, Wal-Mart usually has a very good selection.

you could probably find one on ebay... ya know why? cuz ebay is awesome like that, or if you yahoo search halloween costume patterns you might be able to find it as well
