a man can become infertile as the years pass by
I have 3 children 3 misc I have always been told if you are having difficulty getting preg stop waiting for your ovulation day
and just have at leat every day or every other day
just do not let 24hr pass without having sex after your p
I have follow this and I have always gotten preg
since going to this web site I have try to use ovulation kits (clearblue digital) charting everything that I read about and more so far nothing work but I think (not to blow my horn ) taht i have finally done it I thing this month I will come up with a positive
I have all the symtoms so I am waiting in 5 days I will have a test
so my advise is forget about charting & ovulaiton kit for now just folow the old fashion boring love making every or other day sex
if that don't work get your husband tested

Make sure you are trying during ovulation. The egg only lasts 24-48 hours, but sperm can live for 3-5 days. That means you only have a few days each month where your chances of conceiving are high. Approx. 14 days after your period starts is the ideal time to try.

My husband and I were also TTC and although I had 3 kids from a prior marriage, I seemed to have trouble conceiving this time until I got serious and started marking days. This software also helped, and showed me what to look for to now when I was ovulating. The FIRST time trying this way, I got pregnant!

go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler
This book will help you with all of your menstrual and conception questions. It’s for all women - not just women trying to conceive. It covers everything from temperature to mucus checking, etc.. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! It tells you how to figure out your cycle and what to expect. My husband and I tried for a year to conceive and nothing happened. The first month I used the book we conceived right away. Now I am due Feb 2. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

You should have your husband get tested again just be sure. Then you should go to a Dr. and let them know you have been trying for a year and no luck so far. I had one Dr. say all i needed was clhomid and i went to another one and it turns out i have a Bicornuate uterus so i was misdiagnosed! Go to a doctor and if you can invest in a good fertility monitor. An average healthy woman only has a 20%-30% chance of conceiving each cycle anyway, so it usually takes a couple 6 to 8 months to get pregnant. Get a second opinion and good luck!

Things can change for a guy, so have him go in and get tested as well. Go see your doctor again and let her know it's been a year and still no baby. They may give you hormones to force ovulation.

And being that stress can be a factor, try some relaxation exercises and try not to focus so much on making a baby. I really think that's how I got pregnant so fast. We figured it would take at least a year due to my physical problem, but we got pregnant the first month. Because we were officially trying, but not really - didn't expect anything to happen. lol

Elizabeth, to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

Make sure you BOTH get tested. A good fertility doctor won't just say to you "oh well everything looks normal, good luck"
They will work with you and husband to figure out what's going on.

Make sure you are trying at the right time in your cycle. Often you will have a white, mucusy discharge when you are ovulating, so if you see that find your husband! Also do not stress too much about it. Often when you stop worrying about it is when it will happen.
