Grow up. This is nothing new, and has been known for years. His ties to the KKK was severed over 50 years ago. It took place in the '40's when he was 24. I'm sure you did things when you were younger that you regret.
And no, I'm not a liberal. I just don't like the "mud-slinging" that takes place between the different political beliefs. It's worse than my kids at home (4year old and 8 year old).

I'm a Republican, but even I have to say that you are sadly mistaken when you say Democrats support the KKK. I don't think I would make that statement based off these two articles you've provided. You need to do some research and you might be surprised to see how many Republican Senators and Congressmen have been affiliated with the KKK, not to mention the ones that have made racial slurs just in the past few years. Senator Trent Lott of Mississippi made a racial remark in 2002, and Strom Thurmond, the Senator from South Carolina, he made more then one racial remark about black people before he passed away in 2003. When he ran for President years ago, he promised to rid the school and churches of, as he put it, "******." Furthermore, the majority of people from the South are Republicans, and the KKK is pretty big in the South! I'm not basing that on what I've been told, I'm saying it because I lived in Mississippi, Alabama and Northern Florida, and I seen the problem with the Ku Klux Klan.
Furthermore, just because some Democrats support the KKK, doesn't mean all of them do! You're judging a whole lot of people based on a few ignorant comments made by people who happen to be Democrats. I certainly don't share the views of Trent Lott or Strom Thurmond simply because they're Republicans like I am. I think their ignorant bigots.

O.K. If we follow your reasoning then all Republicans support pedophiles (because the two-faced Florida congressman Foley solicits underage boys).
The useless knowledge site is well-named; it IS useless! The guy trashes Byrd's book and in the next sentence admits he hasn't even read it! Gee! I can do that too!
I'm no Byrd fan, nor am I a Democrat -- or a KKK supporter! -- but I am getting fed up with all the unsubstantiated CRAP that ends up on the internet and is taken as gospel truth!
Reader beware! Just because somebody says it's so, doesn't necessarily make it so. What is their background, what are their credentials?
Be AWARE! And, for heaven's sake, question authority, read more than one account and, then, read between the lines. You have to really dig for the truth.

That is one stupid question my friend. Why did the KKK support the Republican Resolution 2 in Texas??? No sane person of either party supports the KKK, check your facts before posting this crap.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm interesting reading even if the links titles seems off the cuff. Someone went through great pains to put the site up with that dribble of information.
