A pedophile is a pedophile. It doesn't matter how old they are. It's the age of the people in the porn that is relevant. And 12-16 is a crucial age in the formative stages of emotional development/bonding behavior for someone. They shouldn't be watching any porn, let alone kiddie porn. So if they start watching child porn at that age, you can expect them to begin molesting children by the time they are an adult. You need to do something quickly if you can. This will not end well, I can assure you.

The posession of child porn is a criminal offence no matter what age. Also if its on a computer the owner of the computer can be held on charges to. If your cusin is watching it he can and probably will be classified a pedofilia. Maybe if you know somebody in law enforcement that could talk to him and let him know what could happen. The first talk might be a freebe, the next one will produce charges. He needs to talk to some body in authority and hope he listens to understand the legal outlook of his future.

Where is the parent who are suppose to be watching over this child? And why are yo asking here instead of notifying the child's parents or DCF?

Having or even watching child porn is illegal. The age of the viewer is only relevant in determing whether the person will be tried as an adult or a minor.

That's like it's illegal for someone 18 and over to have sex with someone under 18. But it's not illegal for two people under 18 to have sex.

Yes it's wrong but not illegal. But what is bad is if there's a warrant to search the computer how will the adults who are in the house prove it's not them looking at kiddie porn.

He just curious. I think the parents need to set limits on his computer time or parental lock the porn sites. This isn't your problem but the parents. So I would suggest you tell them about it maybe they will have some sense and do it maybe not. Its not child porn if the people in the porn are adults. Its poor parenting when a child watches it.

I dont really know where to start on this question. Firstly, how is a minor getting access to an illegal website? Why dont you tell his parents? They would surely put an immediate end to this being that the internet provider is in their name and will be blamed for the downloads. I would also question whether or not your cousin has been molested himself. Why would he feel the need to accept the images he sees as sexual if he has not been a victim himself?????

First of all, HOW DOES A CHILD GET A HOLD OF CHILD PORN? What is it doing in his house to begin with and it should be reported immediately. Who is to say that his fascination with it now, while he is the same age, wont develop into a fascination when he is NOT the same age. If someone in his house is getting their hands on child pornography they are sneaking around to do it and need to be caught. Its illegal to even possess child pornography, its sick. Call the police! If you don't you are just as guilty because you know what going on and wont do anything about it.

The criminal aspect is based on the age of the person in the video, not the age of the person watching. Anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited from being in a pornographic film. Your cousin needs help regardless of the age of those in the film. I would definitely push the issue with his parents.

child porn is illegal no matter who is watching it. you need to tell a trustworthy adult immediately! my first concern here is why is a 12 year old watching child porn? my thoughts are that someone has violated him/her. take action, please, and get this child the help that they need!

first, you need to turn the tapes over to the police. they need to be able to investigate to find out what sick pervert is selling these or giving these to him and put a stop to it.

secondly, you need to make sure that your cousin gets the help they need. report it to a trustworthy adult that will follow through with some action. if you aren't sure who you can trust, then please call this number: 18004ACHILD they will point you in the right direction.

LOL @ you saying its your cousin.
Its still illegal.
Look at your first sentance. "Everyone knows child porn is illegal"
That means for EVERYONE. Not just old people. It is illegal because the children in it, not because of the age you are when you watch it.
Just. stop watching it ok. And take personal responsibility.
