well the 360 is here now, so if you can't wait its the one to go for. But its not next generation- the PS3 will be. me I would rather wait and get the best. You will find that once the PS3 is out 360 owners will start moving over or stay with somthing that will by then be quite old. Blueray technology is being improved all the time and a suitable TV/monitor to play it on won't be anywhere near £3g. £600-£700 maybe.

I'd get the ps3 but then, the price is the problem. the x-box 360 is good, but i don't know. right now, if i had a choice, since i've bought three playstation systems already, i'd choose the ps3, when the price lowers, but then again, the xbox 360 will be cheaper as well. hmmmm.....choices. Why wasn't the Nintendo Wii in this question?

you want an xbox 360, i have one and yeah they do get hot, but not overheat if you have enough space... it's cheaper than ps3 and the graphics card is in no way worse than ps3.
also failed to be mentioned in all of the other answers here, the ps3 costs so much because of their shitty bluray disc player which by the way can only be used to it's maximum potential if you pay 3000 pounds for a 37 inch lcd tv that supports 1080p (philips is currently the only company to sell them).
ps3 is also being delayed till march and sony has a track record for their first generation consoles to be complete crap so there you have it xbox 360 all the way

If you are going to be staying up all night playing the system, then I'd take the PS3. The 360 is known for overheating over little periods of time. I have many friends who hate there 360s because of that. The PS3 will be more exspensive, but in the long run, you'll reap the benfits.

PlayStation 3 all way cuzz it has everything a true next gen video game console should have great games. Xbox 360 is not a tru next gen video game console plus it has not even one decent game. Blue Ray is better baby hd dvd suck.

You want a PS3. First of all, you will not have to pay to play and the graphic chip/card in the PS3 is worth more than the premium xbox 3 shitty. Don't get me wrong, I have a 3 shitty to pacify me until 11/17/06.

Playstation 3, mainly because I hate Microsoft, but also because I have far more confidence in Sony to market their product and ensure it retains market value when I come to sell it.

xbox 360 definitely
ps3 is much more expensive
ps3 games are fixed to one console so u cannot lend or borrow games
they both have the same high quality graphics
they both do much da sme stuff like dvd, play on internet ( gameplay and xbox live )... etc.
xbox 360 looks nice , project gotham 3 rules, cheaper... i like it
u should wait for nintendo Wii , looks relly funny n cool!
