Only answer I've received so far is that more guns is the solution to the recent school shootings. Any other suggestions? Since we can't make people accountable for children getting ahold of their parent's handguns, and we can't force safety classes or gun safes, is the solution for more unregulated people to have guns, and more children to have access to unprotected guns?

I think arming the teachers is the worst idea I've heard in a while. Personally, I'd like to know what's up with these kids? Are there any common denominators? Depression, aggression? Which may lead us back to the smaller classrooms. The actual relationship with students.
Of course, some school shootings are perpetrated by adults, like that horrendous Amish crime. What can you do? I don't want my kids at a school that looks like a prison. Ultimately I think that would be more detrimental.

Not giving media attention to these nut cases is the answer . We have kids now going on joy rides that end in the death of a police officer and two people "civilians they call them now " it has become us against them .
If we had Not brodcast a full day of the Canadian shooting on the news would we have had the follow up shootings in america .
Seems now to get any attention you have to attack kids .It is all the rage in the media today .
I remember a time when when kids and people protested at rallies and then the government started killing them .So it died off and next it was kiddnapping an heiris like patty hurst or was she just rebeling and hanging out with creeps .
All i know is it is getting worse every year .The movies and tv have put ideas in peoples heads that did not exist .Read papers and watch news reals from the thirties and forties and tell me the media told the truth .
We are told what we need to hear and that should be enough .
Do we want the truth , I think not .
We want a rosy picture of what the world is like .

The bad guys prefer unarmed victims!!.
When seconds matter calling 911 and asking the bad guy to wait is not a viable option.
Better to have a gun and not need it than to need it and not have it!!!

Abolish schools. That would put an instant end to school shootings.
You'd probably get further trying to close down schools than you ever would trying to put really, really strict controls on any kind of firearm!

How about banning assault weapons and handguns? I like that one. Also, make training mandatory for rifles and shotguns.
Guns don't kill people, people kill people. But, people with guns kill people a helluva lot easier than people without guns.

It is not the fault of responsbile gun owners that these kids are getting ahold of guns. We cannot punish those who properly care for their guns because of dumbazzes that dont understand the concept of gun safety.
