To read only ones Sun sign, ( Newspaper,Horoscope) is to use
Astrology in it's weakest form. So to think people can be accurate with a newspaper horoscope, would only be right, about 1/12th of the time.To use a complete Astrological chart of the exact time, and location of birth, is absolutely always constant.
Astrology is a system (communication) a perfectly logical system that's often described as equal parts "science" and art. Whatever you call it, it works. Honest.
So it's not about believing. It's about (communication) understanding yourself, and others better. About drawing parallels between the movements of real planets in our universe, that follow precise mathematical orbits.
If you have an open mind, and want to learn a brand knew way to (communicate) in a language that will fascinate, befuddle, educate, and enlighten you. Then explore for yourself, and other peoples, a new language.Remember belief is not required, an open mind is.
I'm Sagittarius; Sun Leo; Moon Gemini; Ascendant; If you want to explore for yourselves go to Astro.com enter your information and progress from Horoscopes to detailed Astrology.
P.S I rarely read my chart until the end of the day. This way I don't place any expectations on how it should be, and miss opportunities for growth in the moments.

In astrology, a horoscope is a chart or diagram representing the positions of the planets, other celestial bodies, and sensitive angles at the time of any event, such as a person's birth. The term horoscope is derived from Greek words meaning, "a look at the hours" [horoskopos, pl. horoskopoi,or "marker(s) of the hour."] Other commonly used names for the horoscope in English include horoscope chart, natal chart, natus, birth chart, astrological chart, astro-chart, celestial map, sky-map, nativity, star-chart, cosmogram, Vitasphere, soulprint, radical chart, radix or simply chart, among others. It is used as a method of divination about events relating to the point in time it represents. These may be significant times in a person's life, or any other events on Earth such as storms or earthquakes.

I'm a Cancer in Western astrology and a Dragon in Chinese astrology. I don't really believe horoscopes because sometimes they are just so wrong. And even when they're right I can't believe that everyone across the planet who was born in the same month is experiencing the same thing.
I do believe that horoscope/ star signs have some effect on personality and characteristics though. As a Cancer I should be emotional, homely, caring, and as a dragon I should be a leader, fearless, impatient etc. I have always had trouble dealing with these contrasting chracteristics - and when I read about them it helped make sense of the way I deal with things.

To a certain extent, I have found a lot of truth in horoscopes. I am a Leo and what I have read about Leos has been fairly accurate. I don't hold a lot of stock in the daily horoscope that is found in the newspaper, etc. But, there have been times when I have been floored by how close some of them have come to actually being true.

I don't, and horoscopes do not predict people's personality or future. This has been demonstrated in numerous objective studies. The impression that horoscopes do accurately predict your day or show insight into you is due to the Forer effect http://skepdic.com/forer.html
I strongly suspect the main reason that newspapers and magazines still print horoscopes is due to the large amount of money they make from the premium rate 'phone numbers offering a 'more detailed prediction'

I am a Libra, I don't believe in reading my horoscope daily, but I do believe in the characteristics that go along with the signs. Such as a Libra is a peace keeper, things like that.

I saw a programme once proving that it was all a load of bull, they got a classroom full of students and gave them all a horoscope. When asked if they thought it related to themselves, all but 1 raised their hand, they were actually all given the same horoscope though!
