The problem is that the balloon was damaged and they may not have the supplies they need to fill it up with hot air. Also, remember when Desmond tried to escape in that boat? The island pulled him around in a circle and right back to where he started. I don't think there is any escape for these people.

Good question! I am not 100% sure but I believe that when the balloon "crashed" it was damaged. I'm glad they didn't do that because then the show would be over.

I think it will be hard to get the gas on an island to blow up a balloon .. but maybe Sayid can figure something out...

i dont think that it would do any good the island does not want them to leave. i think thewind currents would bring them right back. like the blown up boat. shoot i really dont know.

Dont you need some propane for it. They require some type of gas but i am unsure which type.
