Actually, the best answer is only half correct. The context in which "click" is used, determines its meaning. A click is indeed a kilometer when in company other than a sniper team. In sniper terms, he and his spotter refer to "clicks" as the number of clicks the sniper needs to adjust in order to "mil" the scope, which is based on wind, distance, drag, drift, spin, gravitational drop and when getting into distances past 1000 yards, even humidity and barometric pressure become very important.

On my scope, each click is 1/4 inch at 100 yards.

1 Klick (1 Kilometer) = 1,000 meters or 0.6 mile 4 Klicks is 6.67 is miles, 1,000 Klicks is about 600 miles. Take a mile and multiply it by .6 and you'll get the approximate kilometers. Divide a kilometer by .6 and you'll get the approximate miles. E.G. 50KPH = 30MPH 100KPH = 60MPH. When I first got to Japan and had my American car, I got stopped on a 4 lane road in an industrial area. The sign said 60, so, I was doing 60. The cop was really nice since I was a dumb as rocks American. I pointed to the sign. I pointed to my speedometer and said "Rokku ju" (60). He stepped back, looked at my car, leaned in, looked at my speedometer, then pointed at the 60 sign, then at my speedometer and said "rokkuju, NO SAME SAME!" My first lesson in Japan. I said, "Gomen nasai". He then said, "chio skette, ne"? (Be careful, ok?) We shook hands and he got on his motorcycle and drove off. Oh, how fast WAS I going in KPH? 100KPH.
