The card is too long for the slot. It is a PCI Express card, i think my motherboard only has an AGP slot.
My old radeon 9200 fits and works.
This new radeon X1600 Pro Super can't fit - is there a way to fix this without having to buy a new motherboard??

I think you need to change the motherboard or the video card

pci express is the new generation of interface slot running at speed starting from x16 (general term, '16 times'). agp can only go as high as 8x. now u have two option. 1. trade ur x1600 with an older agp card. 2. get a motherboard with pci express. lemme explain. there are a few converters in the market which can kinda like let u plug pcix into agp. it's something like a plug with a pcix head and fits into agp. but that is not a good option. again, pcix is running at x16, and agp is x8. if u use converter u'll just be running x8 on ur x16 pcix, in which is a waste. unless u plan to use this card in near future, u can temporarily use converter. else, i would advice a pcix motherboard to get all the juice pci express can offer. if u look carefully enough u can see lots of features in pcix in which agp don't have. so, if performance is not the priority and u r not planning an upgrade in near future, u can either trade ur pcix & get an agp or u can get urself a converter. else, if u wan serious performance and r planning an upgrade in near future, get a motherboard with pci express slot and keep ur card. by the way, compatibility issues r still unresolvedfor the converter option. if i were u, i would get a new motherboard cause i wan the performance of the radeon x1600 pro super u RICH ONE!!! hope this helps...

The only thing you can do is either get an AGP graphics card (this slot is usually brown) or buy a new motherboard! Sorry!

Nope...if you don't have any PCI Express slots, you need a new motherboard. A PCI Express card will NOT fit in an AGP slot.

your VGA card is radeon 9200 x 1600 with PCI express card.

why another slotes in your motherboard are full ?

it's n't normally!!!
I suggest to you that reduce the unnecessary cards on your motherboard !
see! which one are necessary for you? save those.
for example :
internal modem .
you can change your internal modem with a external modem.
because modem is cheap & VGA is expensive!
