I think it would make a huge difference if the media happened to mention the following

In 1994 The blundering Clinton administration agreed to provide North Korea with two light-water nuclear reactors in exchange for ending its nuclear weapons program. It IS possible to extract weapons-grade material from light-water reactors.(who didnt see this coming?)

What's more surprising is Donald Rumsfeld sat on the board of the company that won the $200 million contract to provide the design and key components for the reactors.

The company is Zurich-based engineering giant ABB, which signed the contract in early 2000, before Rumsfeld gave up his board seat and joined the Bush administration. He was on the board from 1990 to early 2001.

In May 2001, the DOE, after consulting with the new Rumsfeld Pentagon, authorized delivery of nuclear technology to North Korea. Groundbreaking ceremonies attended by Westinghouse and N. Korean officials were held Sept. 14, 2001--three days after 9/11

The media is limited in their resources. USGS placed the explosion last night much higher than South Korea did, implying a much larger explosion. US sources say 550 ton, others say less than 400 ton. Either way, it doesn't appear to have been much, if any, of a nuclear detonation. We will go on our foreign resources on this.

We must however be careful of our foreign resources, because the media will have their own agenda, depending on the country. Japan and USA and DPRK are playing it up, probably exaggerating. Japan is ready to arm, USA needs a diversion from real problems, and DPRK needs diversions also, as well as strengthening national pride and control. Russian media is scary.

This situation is critical right now, because with the Foley scandal, it appeared the balance of Congressional power was going to shift. Expect a great deal of fearmongering. Unfortunately, we still have a month before the elections, so one might expect a great many fireworks.

I disagree with anyone who states Bush should have met with lil kim in private. lil kim could have told the world anything, to denigrate the USA and extract more goodies from China.

Official statements to the contrary, I still believe China authorized this(or these) tests.

More news as independent sources make it available.

PS: Propaganda techniques are one of my favorite interests. Not so much alternative media, but rather how the societies affected respond to stimuli.

There is always Alex Jones as a resource, but I am unsure of his motivation in providing selected information. The world has been a treacherous place for a long time.

And who has Donald Rumsfeld worked for for the last six years?
And what U.S. administration has been "making foreign policy" (I put this in quotation marks because Bush foreign policy is such a joke) for the last six years?
I'm not a Democrat but I think the Republicans in power have a helluva lot to answer for!
