The nurse should be fired!!! And the patient has every right to yell back. I would had called the nurse's supervisor, raised some he11, and screamed at the top of my lungs so the entire hospital would hear how this nurse treated me. I would refuse to pay my bill, get a lawyer, and sue the pants off of that nurse and the hospital for anything I could sue them for.

But, of course, I am not a good patient. I hate hospitals and the nurses don't like me too much either.

eek, its a matter of respect, just cuz a nurse has a bad day and a patient isnt behaving right doesnt give right to yell, now terminating is a harsh punishment but something should be done, maybe a temp suspention, i say if the patient yells back then sedate em, er i mean if its unjustified yelling then the patient should be allowed

Nurses should never yell at the patient, no matter what. That would be like a cop shooting at every criminal he/she comes in contact with.

IF SHE/HE ARE DOING FOR THEM TO HEAR WHAT THEY ARE SAYING NO. BUT IF THEY ARE BEING MEAN YES. JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A CRABBY PATIENT DOESN'T GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO MISTREAT THEM.
