the thing is u have 2 different situations: 1. rt+1=0 =>prt +p=0 =>a=0,for any p . then is the second situation: 2.rt+1 is diffrent from 0 =>p(rt+1 )=a =>p= a/(rt +1).That's all,but the most important thing at this kind of exercises is that u cannot divide a number to zero .....so the ones above me missed this in their solution.

you will need to simplify the right hand side so you can get p

a = p(1+rt) {can you see how I did that?}

and then divide both sides by (1+rt)

a=p+prt
a=p(1+rt)
divide both sides by 1+rt
a/1+rt=p
