B and C.

A is not totally correct, because although they actually were active slave traders, they didn't sell them for working in Europe, but traded them with other colonial powers so that the black slaves ended up in the American colonies or transferred them directly to their own colonies in Brazil. And that was happening more often during the 17th and 18th century, cos up to then, there were no english or french settlements in America, so the trade was basically going towards the recently acquired Spanish or Portuguese America, and by 16th century it wasn't yet that much.
