Chris Rock once said that gun crimes would go down, if bullets cost $5000 a piece. COuld this be a good solution?

no, it's like saying rape would go down if it was ILLEGAL. And it has.

willy, we punish drunk drivers, and gas is taxed, and you have to go to school to learn to drive a car and get a license. Seems to me that guns should have AT LEAST as much control as a car does...Can you give me another reason for using a gun, besides killing something, or the threat of killing something? Cause I can give you a few for a car...

treehugger, kindly answer the questions, or go to class. You are just mad that I struck up a debate with you that you couldn't handle. And if I was your age, erroneously calling me a man would bother me. But it doesn't. So stay in school, the real world is tough out there, especially for someone who will be in it for the first time.

They should make it mandatory that everyone over 18 WILL carry a firearm. The crooks would not pick on the good people as much, they would just kill each other more. Better than paying to have them in jail.

it would be a good idea , 5000 is a bit much , maybe like 200 . but people can always make their own bullets , then you would have a gang that has 100 people making bullets all day

Drunk drivers kill thousands of people with their automobiles. Should we outlaw their cars? Or just make their gas $5000 a gallon to stop this travesty?
When are people going to start holding people accountable, rather than blaming the instrument of their destructive nature?

Yes, it would successfully solve the problem of how to make sure only criminals have guns, and simultaneously solve the problem of how to make most of the rest of us unable to defend ourselves and our families. ...except for rich guys like Chris Rock, of course, who could still afford to have bodyguards with guns, even with $5000 bullets.

Tax bullets to the tune of 4 grand a box. This is a great plan. It would cut the deficit while saving lives.

Leave the questions to intelligent rational people to figure out. You are not being rational.

Or we could just charge people a $10,000 tax each time they flex their fingers to pull the trigger.

Then I would not be able to afford to shoot a deer, and you would run into one with your car before long.
