I like to purchase used movies and books from Amazon.com
You can usually find inexpensive movies on E-Bay as well, but I think Amazon is much easier to use. You can shop by title of the movie, by genre, etc. You almost always get a choice between new and used, and if it's used the seller of the movie has to list what condition it is in. And one thing I really like is that Amazon always has info pertaining to the movie, such as plot outline/synopsis, editorials, user reviews, etc. If you are unsure about a movie you can usually find all kinds of info before you purchase it.
I was able to buy a boat-load of books and movies for my kids for Christmas and most of them were sold for only a penny - and I didn't have to wait for an auction to end. Of course, their is shipping and handling, but usually that is a minimal fee.

It just depends where you are. In the U.S., Wal Mart has a bargain bin where dvds are $5.50. There is also a company called Dgiview Productions that sells dvds at various stores for $1. They are mostly "B" movies, but they are okay.

actually you can get alot of good movies at target, they have a great selection of dvd's and they have a whole section of movies that are $5.50 or $7.50, thats not bad for dvds at all! and sometimes they have new releases for like 13 bucks! thats way better than paying $20 at best buy or circuit city. hope this helps!
