A "ricer" or "riceboy" is someone who makes modifications that don't enhance a car's performance and may even make it worse. One classic ricer mod is to lower a car so much that not only does it scrape over manhole covers, but it also loses all suspension compliance and corners worse than the same car at stock ride height. Another popular ricer mod is to put on 18" rims and 35-series tires that weigh 10 or 15 pounds more per corner than the stock rims/tires. Screws up EVERYTHING about how the car actually drives. And if you do BOTH of these mods, you can end up with a car that is pretty much undriveable because the tires rub the wheel wells so badly that you can't turn the steering wheel more than a quarter of a turn. That's "minute rice."

But probably the #1 identifying factor that says "This car belongs to a ricer" is the presence of a huge aftermarket wing on the rear deck, preferably one with two or three airfoil components. That... a four-inch-wide exhaust tip (blued around the edge to look trick)... you get the idea.

If the ricer mentality were to have a slogan, it would be "If a little is good, then a lot must be better, so too much must be best." It can be hard to distinguish from the "custom" mentality -- which modifies cars to make them unique or distinctive -- or the "sport-compact" mentality -- which modifies cars to make them go faster and handle better. A ricer generally uses mass-produced parts (therefore losing the uniqueness factor) that make the car perform worse (therefore losing the go faster/handle better factor).

cheap line modification can claim you to become a ricer.
such things like that huge rear spoiler on your trunk, some red painted type of wheels, and muticolor paint job on your car, some extra shiny chrome looking tail lights. and also few mexican type of mods can cause you to be called a ricer.
