i have fever, chills, and my body aches to high heaven. i thought about thursday maybe friday that i had uti but the need to use the bathroom is back to normal and no pain peeing since thursday or friday but then saturday night woke-up with severe shivers and nausea. so the flu or bladder infection?

Other than the painful urination, it doesn't sound like a bladder infection. It sounds more like the flu. Make sure you drink TONS of water, and go to your doctor to make sure there is no type of infectioin just to be sure

You should visit a Dr. But, to answer your question, you may have started out with a uti which compromised your body's resistance and you then contracted a virus. It is also possible that the bacteria causing the uti went into the blood and now you are septic, which typically causes a high fever. You could still be septic even though the uti has gone away. Again, you should visit a Dr.
