An outsiders view, I don't know if you'll like it or find it useful for your project, but here goes:

It is a country that once represented freedom, greatness, advancement, a country that had many 'rags to riches stories', the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Slowly as technology advanced, the Soviet Union was finished, Americans stopped really looking outside and were so involved in themselves, that only what they felt was good for their economy mattered and not what was really good overall. So you had them interfering in internal matters of other smaller and weaker nations - Vietnam, Korea, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan... wherever the US intervened, that nation was destroyed, economy in tatters, lives shattered forever and the big US businesses laughed all the way to the bank. Slowly the nation lost it's conscience, and to a great extent the current president who won the first election by cheating and the second one on corpses (war) contributed to image of the megalomaniac that US now seems to portray to a major part of humanity, which is sad, for the US was a great nation, and should be a great leader instead of the bully that many in the world consider it to be. Where, how and why did you loose your way Uncle Sam?

Sad that a nation built on the pillars of freedom, on goodness, now thrives on blood of other humans, on destruction, on hypocrisy, on injustice to fellow humans. And yet, this is one of the few countries that I love and admire apart from my own.(And my country has probably more freedom for every single human, man woman or child than any other country in the world, including the US).

Well, the United States, when created was to be meant for the land of the free.

The US has always promoted themselves as a country that gives you the right to freedom. Do we have the freedom that was promised to all so long ago? I think with today's society that it is a difficult question to answer.

Women's Rights. I think that there are great organizations and support for women in this country. Other countries, not so fortunate. Then you look at things like we are forced to wear seatbelts or we can get a ticket. As adults we should be able to make that own choice for ourselves.

And in this country you can sue anyone for anything. Even criminals have more rights then the rest of us.

Yes, we have freedom and we have order, somewhat, in this country. There are things that a lot of citizens do not like or agree with when it comes to the decisions of the government.

Imagine if you lived in another country, as a woman or child you have no rights. No right to speak, no right to vote, no right to live how you would want to. Imagine, in some countries they use children to fight their wars and strap bombs on them and even make them walk through mine fields to set off the bombs. Imagine, not being able to work or have a system were you couldn't collect unemployment or welfare to feed and support your family. Imagine, starving and watching your family starve because there is not a stable economy. Imagine, not being able to get the medical care that you need or your family needs because of the shortages of hospitals and doctors. Imagine, not being able to learn and receive the education, because your country does not have the resources and because you are female.

But you don't have to imagne any of this because it goes on all around the world while we live our lives.

Do I agree with this government? I am allowed to believe as a choose and think what I want because I live here. I am allowed to voice my opinion and not be shot for it, because it is not against the law. I may be one person, but I can vote and make that little difference.

People may say that it's foolish and pointless, but if you do nothing and choose to do nothing then you have no right to complain or gripe about the problems that continue in this country.

The United States is one of the most powerful countries in the history of the world. Like other great world powers before them, such as the Romans, Greeks, Ottomans, Arabs, and British, the United States has made huge mistakes as it flexes its power on the world stage. Within the country, the nation faces many challenges but has been able to overcome issues such as slavery, and civil rights. Violence, racism, and poverty continue to be major issues in the country.

Without context of this question it is impossible to answer. Are you looking for history? For geography? For politics? For an emotional answer or a simply factual one?

Since you live here, I think you should answer this one for yourself!!!

I see it as an international bully whose people are so brainwashed by their system that they see their President as a god. I don't think that would help you in your assignment though.
