shortly after I have gone over a road hump,there is a loud clicking
sound from the left front wheel area,I looked underneath but
there is nothing loose,it had new wishbones 6 months ago,the car
drives ok,could it be the lower suspension arm,as I have been
advised,if so how much to fix it?

its your outer cv joint

It sounds like a cv joint (constant velocity joint) check the axle from the wheel to the transmisson, there is a little rubber boot there. If it is cracked torn or missing replace it, look for signs of grease coming out. They cost around $150 DIY and $350-$500 at a shop.

CV joint for sure , cheap enough to repair.

could be the tappets, had that problem with my fiesta, get it looked at.
