If points are tied, the Championship is decided on the number of race wins throughout the season. At the moment, they both have the same number of wins, but Alonso has a ten point lead, so if Schumacher wins, he still needs Alonso to finish lower than eighth to tie on points, then the German will take the title with one more win than Alonso.

The only way Michael can win the championship is if he wins the race and Fernando fails to finish. This will leave them equal on points, but Michael will win on 'goal difference' because he would've won 8 Grands Prix to Fernando's 7. If it was still a tie they would count the number of second places, then third places etcetera until they do have a winner. I can't remember how they would sort it out after that!

I personally think this is a bad way to decide a tie. I would fuel the pair of cars up, then let them duel it out no holds barred. First to finish ten laps (by hook or by crook) is the winner.

If Schumacher wins in Brazil in a fortnight and Alonso doesn't score any points then they will be tied on points but Scumacher will take the title because he will have won 8 races to Alonso's 7.

"think Ferrari might take out Alonso
like they did Villeneuve and Damon Hill - Massa will do it for them."

Nah. Unlike Schumacher, Massa has a sense of decency.

And not even Schumacher can wreck Alonso and still win the race. Renault doesn't break, so Alonso has it made.

The Championship is then decided by who has won the most races this season and I think its schumacher at the moment with winning one more than Alonso..but i do hope Alonso wins the last race

The amount of wins has to be taken in to account next. If Schumacher wins the next one and Alonso gets nowhere then Schumacher wins as he has the most wins.

If Schu wins and Alonso DNF's then Schu will win based on more total wins in the season, they currently have an equal amount. It would not be surprising if either Ferrari driver tried to take out Alonso.

Should be an interesting last race - think Ferrari might take out Alonso

the only way of finishing on equal points is if schumy wins and alonso fails to score...in which case schumacher has more wins over alonso and wins the title...

lets pray alonso fails to score and fisichella comes first...in front of schumy, and alonso wins title by two points.....wooohooo
