I want to find out if people read all the assigned readings and texts for the week? How often do you finished reading all the assigned readings? If you don't, do you just read some section and ignore others? How do you know what to read, and what not to read?

thanks!

As the holder of three university degrees, I speak from my own experience. Yes, I read all of the assigned reading. If you want to get the best grade possible and learn as much as you are able to learn, then you will read the assigned texts. It can be difficult. In history, undergraduate, I had to read a chapter a day, that was about 25 large pages of small print. It put me asleep faster than any other text but I got through it. In law school I had to read about 1000 pages per class per quarter. That was tough. You do learn to scan pages for common thought patterns and ideas. You see something you recognize and say to yourself, okay, I know that stuff, and then you move on.
It helps if you like to read and like to learn from what you read.
Best wishes.

I try to read as much of the assigned readings as I can. If I have to skip some then I skip the readings that I think the professor will lecture on in class. Of course that doesn't work if the class is in a discussion format.

Generally its pretty much in your best interest to do all of your assinged reading which is what i try to do most of the time. However there are times when there isn't enough time in the week and when this happens i would recommend that you read the chapter summaries and try to go over all the bold or italicized stuff in the chapter which is generally the "important" stuff. Its not a great butat least you know some of the stuff : )

Some classes that I take the lecture is so good that I do not have to but in other classes it's best to read every word.
You should know which class is which after you get your 1st test back.

No. Intelligent reading comes with time and it also depends on the area of study vis a vis the volume of work.

Because I for one, enjoyed it, still do.

And you really have no excuse because I have 2 learning dissabilities that made it close to impossible for me to ever actually get to the point of enjoying reading so...
