First off don't believe everything you hear about smoking and decreased sperm. My husband was checked in 98 (4 yrs after stopping smoking) and his sperm count was on the low side of normal. However, he was checked 2 months ago (after smoking again for 5 + years) and his count was off the charts! He did go from jockey's to boxers, he takes one a day for men, and 500mg of vitamin c daily. Other than that he lives life like he always has. He works construction so the diffs in temps didn't affect him either. He doesn't drink or do drugs. He only averages 5 - 6 hours of sleep a night. Oh yeah HE'S 48!!!!!!! He's in perfect health, excellent heart, lungs, and blood pressure.
Also, we were told by the doctor that a low count doesn't mean that he can't impregnate you. He should take the vitamins and wait a couple of months and be tested again. Everyday life and stress can affect the sperm count.

For a low sperm depend you would check out iui. You could want no less than five million motile for this to have a well hazard of it operating. Iui is particularly low cost, almost always below $500. This is wherein they inject the sperm with a catheter proper into the utererus. For cut down counts you're watching at ivf. The rate for every cycle of ivf is approximately $10,000 and it's approximately 50% robust. This is wherein they take the sperm and eggs and placed them in combination after which situation the embryos within the womb. You would additionally check why the depend is low. Sometimes that is induced by way of a varicocele, which can also be constant with surgical procedure. If the person has swollen tubes prednisone or a different anti inflammatory can also be handy.

avoid any stimulents, eat healthy, take medication designed to increase his count. Dont smoke or drink, those things kill sperm. Wear boxers and dont cramp the berries.

The doctor should have a few ideas of things that can help him.

My co-worker's husband had low sperm count. They went to see a urologist. This doctor preformed a procedure to 'open up his tubes'. Within three months of the procedure, she was pregnant.

Make an appointment to see if he/she can help you.
