That depends on the owl and the direction that you are running. Northern owls rotate clockwise, so you would have to run counterclockwise in the Northern hemisphere and opposite if you cross the equator. Unless..you have a transposed owl in which you should run the other way or you risk winding the owl too tight and it will rip off your ears.

I've done this. He fell off his branch after 6 rounds - same time as I fell down dizzy from the running around. His head was still attached, but I fell down on him and it killed him anyway. Dang.
