They may try but they would fail and it would lead to them losing both houses in the following general election... the President may not be really popular right now, but the American people, by and large, don't want congress wasting time on impeachment hearings... Not to mention that the basis for impeachment would be weak at best. Lissette needs to read up on what it takes to impeach... it's not just a matter of he did a bad job as President... or this group doesn't like him.... and Regardless of what the international community thinks, Impeachment is not a diplomatic tool to be used to gain favor with other wimpy countries like France.
Personally as much as people may be fed up with the state of the union right now, I still don't think they'll vote in a majority of Democrats.

Personally I doubt it. First off, while the Democrats may take the House, I do not believe that they will take the Senate. Second even if they take both Houses they will not have the 2/3 majority required to remove a President from office. So in truth it would be an exercise in futility, but you never know. They might do it just to attempt to score political points for the 08 election.
Lissette: Just for clarification. Mr. Clinton was impeached. Impeachment is the process. He was not removed from office as a result of the impeachment.

Does a bear crap in the woods? of course they will or they will be unemployed come the next election! The democratic base will destroy any dem that doesn't impeach him. They would cite the warrant less wire tapping scandal, they would also cite the bogus lies and distortions he used to get us in the Iraq war. These 2 alone would be far more sufficient than the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

I hope they do not win first off. I f they win they will try, but they will not be able to do it! If they are successful in it though I hope you are willing to give up your rights as a citizen of the USA. They will let the illegals come and go as they please, they will integrate with the Arab nations and let them come. Then you will see the ultra liberal society that will bring a end the the USA. And we will all die under the Arabic laws, because they will be in power!

Not right away. They'll wait until they can make sure they can drag the impeachment hearings out until '08 in order to have as much impact as possible on the election.

Hell, that's probably the ONLY thing they will do. I have seen nothing else that they are planning but maybe cutting and running from Iraq and raising taxes and neither of the three speaks well for them HOLDING both houses.

There is nothing to impeach him for, so the question is moot. You can't impeach a president because you don't like him, it has to be for something like committing perjury

I hope not. I want to see the dems at least take the house but I don't want them to waste time on an impeachment that at best would leave "Shooter" Cheney in charge, and that's no upgrade.

the republicans tried to get Clinton impeached for having sex with an intern. but all hey managed to do was cause ambarrassment to the country. but i think to heal relations with other countries we should atleast try to impeach him. other countries hate Bush more than they hate America per se. but some people ask" what would be their reason to impeach him? " well i dont think anything he has done since 9/11 has helped our country. infact he has jeopardized it. and he went into Iraq and incited a civil war...so in my opinion that is reason enough. i think letting him go quietly in the night is unfair. where is the justice?
