Apparantly its rare, but it also effects her periods and hormones and moods.

Does anyone know what this is called? Is it real? She says its really hard to get an OBGYN that's heard of the syndrome.

yes she could have something.

your ob-gyn don't know the name of every syndrome may not have heard of some but he has a network of other doctor to consult on every issue he is not sure of.

my sister had a syndrome in her uterus ( don't remember the exact name) that the lining was thinker than normal and it was hard for her to become pregnant. the lining was so think that is was hard for the egg to implant it self in the lining she may have something like that.

or there is a chance she is looking for a little attention. not trying to mean but she may have made it all up.

Hard to say because we are not doctors. It is highly doubtful that she is making it up, and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (which is rare) sounds like it could be what she is talking about. Yeah they have probably heard of it but its just that they are looking at all the other possibilties first.

First yes she could have something rare.

Second an OBGYN should know of everything that could be wrong. Maybe not off hand but has heard of it like in medical school to get certified.
