This bug is long and narrow, brown, flies and stinks something awful when killed. It is not a stink bug ( those appear to be somewhat of a diamond shape). This bug is invading my house, they seem to live in crevices around windows and doors and underneath shutters and siding. Can anyone help?

This sounds like what we had, if it is then it is a box elder bug. Go to the website below and it shows a picture. My hole porch was infested with them they would come out in the sun during the fall and summer and millions of them would be all over. During the winter and cold days they hide under your siding and window sills. I found out what works if you just wanna kill them yourself get some dish soap and water in a spray bottle and squirt them. For some reason it kills them allmost instantly, but takes forever to kill them all. If you want them all gone at once and this is what we did is get an exterminator. We get this done every year cuz they will come back every year because there is a box elder tree near by us that they are attracted to. Good Luck!!

Oh no! That my buddy is the extraordinarily toxic and lethal "Long Tailed Devil's Sword Bug" Don't contact it...do not even take yet another photo. If you such a lot as breathe the air inside 6 ft of that factor you're more likely to develop hair in your eye balls and begin taking note of Meatloaf! Seriously that factor will burrow it is approach into you intestines at the same time you sleep and make your poo like water for a month!! They come from Sweden so it need to had been imported through any individual to f*ck with us!! AHHHHHH hazard, hazard!!!!!

Try looking on the internet at a picture of an earwig. I dont think earwigs fly though but they are a favorite bug that hides in crevasses, logs, under things the yard and in the middle of plants and plant stems. They do stink when squashed.

Without seeing the bug it would be difficult to identify. Capture one in a jar and take it to your local cooperative extension office and they will be able to tell you what it is, or the biology department at a large university should be able to help you.

there are many types of stink bugs, the color and shape means nothing.

because your description is vague, have you tried searching on the net for invasive interior insects. that might get you started in the right direction.....
