It seems that way. This strategy is sending the world a message, "Have WMDs and we won't attack you, but if you don't have them, you better watch out". North Korea's ideas about self-defense based on WMDs seems to reflect the implications of America's strategy.

That is not the exact strategy being employed. The actual strategy is--talk and threaten North Korea (with the help of some other nations), fight in Iraq, and threaten Iran. Sad, but with the situation in the world as it is, that is the only strategy we have , AT THE MOMENT. No, it is not working but what would you do?

The Republicans have no strategy.
Haven't had one-did not come in with one-won't go out with one.
Their scheme is to Grab-loot-plunder-amass-and leave office with world policy in total chaos and blame it all on the incoming Democrats.
Just like Nixon/Ford dump on Carter and Gop rips into Carter. GOP underhands and backstabbing (bush/north Iran-Contra affair) gets reagan/bush in.
and all Hell breaks loose with economy again.
Clinton stablizes-- Bush comes and destroys america in the eyes of the rest of the world. We are now the most hated people on earth--because of one egotiscal-arrogant childish little loser.
No, congress will not allow Bush any further military action
against any country except for current involvement.
GOP teacup is empty. Magic is gone. People are tricked out.
PT Bush got caught suckering.
Gop knows they need a scapegoat--another democrat--
smear the blame and blood on--
power up for another run four years later.

You are sadly miss informed. No one is ignoring them. And we sure has hell are not going to give them nuclear technolgy as Clinton did. Iran is not being appeased at all. We have taken the lead on the issue. The other nations are dragging their feet.
