If You have a lot of time start playing online strategies. It's real time action 24/7, very addictive (if You will reach a place in High Scores Table You'll be checking Your accounts even few times a day). Generally You are starting with single "base" (planet, island, headquater etc.) and expand them by building new facilities, later on You'll develop Your own army and then the real game starts. You can attack other players to steal part of their resources, or You can build a great defence and start Your own production of resources so You can trade it. There is so many tactics how to play and because of that those games are so addictive. Later in the game You can even get a new "base" and develop them in differend ways...

Maple Story is a fun game, but takes a lot of grinding (mindless training) to be fun.
GunZ is a 3D shooting game where you create a character and run around shooting others on a map. very addicting, very fun.
