Every winter, and every year when it starts getting cold, I wake up with a horrible dry, sore throat and nasal passages.

Possible factors I have considered;

1. I assumed it was the heater, but it is not, since I shut the heater off in the bedroom and I get the same symptoms. The heater does not blow hot air anyhow. It is a radiator.

2. I set up a humidifier right by the bed and it did not work. Maybe a larger one? Still, this one was basically two feet to the side of me.

3. Even opening a window (to cool it down in there) does not seem to help. Of course, I havent opened it WIDE, but I have more than cracked it.

Any ideas? Anyone out there suffer from similar symptoms? Have you come up with a solution? If so, let me know... because it is awful. Really truly horrible.

Thanks a lot!

J

Dreaming even in this way should not be seen as a disease. The dreams you have are special and the more you can balance such a rich and intense dreamworld with the waking world the stronger person you will be. Many people don't dream at all and of those that do fewer still dream lucidly. Hang in there, enrichen your spiritual life with your dreams and soon you could be astral traveling where the dream bodies are just that one click more real than even a lucid dream. Not knowing the content of your dreams i would say that your dreams may be tiring you out because that's what they are-tiring dreams. Let your imagination take root and experience vivid dreams in which you either transport yourself or are transported. If this tires you out as much as you say, i am sure you have dreamt of being drained. You have to get to a stage where your dreams are original enough to yourself, not to tire you but excite you. Don't take drugs for your dreams, the only way out is through and that isn't necessarily out at all. Basically my advice is give your dreams more relevance. Their are people that find the dreamworld fascinating- I am one of them. Your dreams and the suffering you have experienced may have a spiritual purpose.

I have the same problem. Apparently it is because I either snore and or sleep with my mouth open. Breathing through the mouth. It is horrible. When you close your mouth it all sticks stuck. Have your sinuses checked out, as that is the main problem of getting all blocked up in the nose. No solutions unfortunately, just have to tolerate it and hope I dont swallow a fly or something worse.

Have you tried sucking on a cough drop or a peice of candy such as wintergreen or cinnamon at nite before falling asleep? I have found this to help in the past.

oh I feel like that all of fall not winter, but you might try what I do... I have a cup of really hot tea before and after sleeping with tons of honey in it, plus try to drink as much water during the day, that always seems to help me..
Feel better!!!
