i ahve a contact in my yahoo messenger and today i recived a message from that contact it says DONT CLICK ON THE LINK "the only way to clean some online viruses that may lead you into trouble: http://myglobal-news.com?id=ie protector<<"
in my office computer i clicked the link and my computer was gone dead slow and i was not able to work on it, secondly the home page of internet explorer got changed into the above link, and the change of home page was disabled
i checked wether any unwanted program was running in background , my task manager was also disabled, i am using windows xp sp2

It says not to click the link...why did you? lol. Anyway, you probably got spyware and/or viruses. Scan with the following:
Spyware Tools:

verify you connection velocity first for Yahoo Calls you want minimum 128kbps line bear in suggestions making Landline or outdoors calls via Yahoo Messenger isn't loose in case you're making calls outdoors yahoo members, you should purchase some calling credit

I also have the same problem, My Symantec detected it but couldn't stop it. and says as below.

Now my regedit and task manager are disabled.
