I tried several FM transmitters for my iPod before I just gave up and went to a good quality cassette adaptor (Sony, Belkin, and Monster brands have worked well for me).

None of the FM transmitters I tried reliably found clear space in our medium-sized radio market area- it might be perfectly clear near home, but staticy by work, etc.

On the road, small stations drifting in and out made it almost impossible to find a good spot to leave the settings.

Now, with my cassette adaptor, I get the benefit of better quality sound, lower device price, no interference, better travelling reliability, AND the ability to play my iPod in almost any stereo or boombox I run across!

Someone, some day my come up with the perfect FM transmitter- but having been burned by so many already, I probably won't bother with them any more.
