Guinea pig naturally shed, I have a house full of them year round anywhere for 2 to forty in my home and 250 in the entire rescue. They all shed it is normal, if in the event you have bald spot or thin patches I would have them checked for mites, as they can and do get them, most of the time the mite are in the bedding you buy from the stores.

Most likely just routine sesonal shedding. Unless it's itching a lot... then it could have mange or some other type of mites.

It could just be usual shedding, or it could be it's diet, maybe it's not geting enough vitamens or maybe it has some kind of mites or something, check to see if you spot any like red spots where he/she itches alot...if you don't see any, then it's probably just shedding...

Maybe your guinea pig has lice or ringworm (the latter is contageous).
