Okay, first off I knocked off #5 because that is an AMD, and since the other 4 are Intel I assume you want Intel. The I got rid of #2 and #3 because unless you plan to run SLI, don't mess with nVidia chipsets. I would take #1 over #4 because the 965 chipset is a little better than the 975 chipset. #1 should do fine, unless you plan to overclock in which case I would recommend this board:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131030
Lastly, don't listen to the guy recommending the AMD FX-62, unless of course you wanna pay $700 dollars for a CPU that is outperformed by a $320 Core 2 Duo. If you need any further help, feel free to email me.

You should go to Tigerdirect.com. They have a lot better description of items. They will tell you about slots, ports, LOM, memory, etc, etc. Even if you don't buy from them, the info is pretty extensive. When you find a motherboard with all the right features, go to the manufacturers website and read some more. Also, look up the processors, memory, video cards, etc and see what is available for the MB you would like. Once I accidentally bought a AGP video board when my MB had a PCI-E slot. Plan exactly what you will buy before you start buying stuff. That way you won't later look back and say "Man that PC4200 memory costs so much more than PC3200, I should have got the other MB".

I don't have enough time to see all of above sites but I must say some thing that usually Asus Motherboards has the best efficiency but not with nVIDIA chipset. You'd better to choose an asus motherboard with intel chipset.
It seems that you are going to buy an Intel CPU but my suggestion is to review some AMD Athlon 64 (FX , X2) CPUs. But know that with AMD CPUs you'd better to choose nVIDIA chipsets over VIAs.
