No way, today's schoolchildren expect everything on a gold plate without having to work for it. That is why when they leave school they have no prospects of a job because they could not be bothered to learn. I still have homework now that I am an undergraduate, I do not use the Internet that much because some sites can have a biased view. What are the kids going to learn if they come to places like Yahoo Answers and get others to do their home work for them? (They will learn nothing)
Working out your own home work is there to give you a challenge and to show your tutor what you can remember and that you can work out problems on your own

I don't feel jealous. I feel sad and concerned for these kids.
It is troubling that they can't do simple math, read a book to do a report, figure out how the defeat of the Spanish Armada led to the rise of Britain and the world power, etc.
Is it not worrisome that they come to this site to ask this community for the answers when half the community is in the same boat as they are. Blind leading the blind, as they say.
How hard is it to go to an online dictionary to get a definition of a word or a synonym if not an actual dictionary? The length it takes to ask probably takes as much time if not longer than the time it takes to look something up.
The biggest trouble I have is the spelling and grammatical errors. What are they learning at schools? Granted, not everyone can spell, but there is the "check spelling" button right there. How lazy do you have to be to not do that?

No i'm not jealous. The homework given out now is different to when i was at school, and it's usually allocated a much shorter time to complete it. This is because of the availability of the internet. The information needed for a lot of homework now is more obscure than i had when i was young.

NO because they miss out on the fun and pleasure of reading, researching & problem solving. Makes me a nerd in some people's eyes but I don't care. I'm off to play a game of Risk with my son who has finished all of his homework! Bye!

Honestly, can't be jealous because I think coming generations are losing knowledge if they can google homework questions instead of putting in the work and research to get it done.

I am not jealous; I am one of those teachers now beginning to use the internet and email to teach. The computer is the future and the future is now! Jealously and "feeling sorry for" are wasted emotions. Get busy with your life and get those words out of your vocabulary!

Not at all. If someone else answers their questions then what have they learnt. Who, is going to advise them in the future when they are doing an emergency operation.?

If they don't mis-use it, using it as a tool - like a library, all the better for them. But if they use it to cheat, they're only cheating themselves. A good teacher will generally be able to tell whether a student's work is their own or someone else's.

No because children will not get the knowledge they need in later life because they don't take in what they are printing out. I think schooling is far too easy these days.
