They never should have hired him, but they did. They should have fired him as soon as he hired Tom Walsh. If he wasn't responsible for Walsh's hiring he should have resigned when it happened.

They could, but that would not solve the problem. The Raiders' problems are 1) Al Davis; and 2) A complete and total lack of talent.

The Raiders need to do something. They are the worst team in the NFL and maybe the worst ever. Unless they get lucky I don't see how they will finish with a win at all, be the first team to go

No. If possible, they should get rid of Al Davis. He's the only remaining common denominator. The Raiders problems have persisted very long through the stints of multiple coaches, and they begin with the lines. You cannot fix that mess in a year...

Art Shell inherited 6 years of failure under reclusive owner Al Davis. The man needs time and a complete team makeover (and the retirement of Mr. Davis).
