Because it's a good concept. Jesus and early Christians did exactly the same thing, selling everything so everyone had some. There's always people that want more and more and more than their fair share, and that's how you've got "democracy". Democracy is two wolves and one sheep voting on what to eat for dinner. The rich feast on the poor and we call it freedom.

First of all. It is not communism it is a military dictatorship. Communism is an economic model not a political one. WHich is a common misconception due to the propoganda from the cold war. Technically its comunism vs capitalism. (Star Trek is communism). You could have a democratic communism. It has not been tried since ancient greece, but you could.
Why are they communist? Mostly because the dicatorship wants control over everything. Or possibly that capitalism expands and when it can no longer expand if there are no safeties in pace (The new deal which Reagan killed) it will collapse AKA the depression. really who knows. NOw enjoy some racist insulting opinions which are sure to follow.

Communism is a great concept to get the people to follow----share and share alike. But, it Will always fail as there are those who want their share without working as the other do, and there are always those who want more than just their share.
China has become a Socialistic state-------the government being a dictatorship. And, with the Army backing the government, it will not change in our lifetime.
Really, stop and think about it. China is too big to have any other type of government than a Socialistic one......too many people.

Because the leaders who instilled Communism thought it was best for their nation. On paper Communism looks great but in practice it fails every time. Why? Probably because in order for it to work everyone has to buy into it, and therein lies the problem. People are individuals and want to be acknowledged as such, therefore they want to pursue their own hopes and dreams. Capitalism allows for that, and often rewards that. The only drawback is that for Capitalism there isn't much of a safety net if you fail in your pursuits. Communism will find a place for you if that happens, if you're even allowed to pursue your dreams in the first place. However, comparing the two, Capitalism may have much higher levels of living and much lower as well, but Communism seems to create a sameness to the level of living that most of America would consider near poverty.

They don't, really. What China has bears as much relation to real Communism as the Inquisition bore to real Christianity. However, they were able to use communism to appeal to the poor at the time of the revolution in order to create a fascist state.

If they immediately abolish communism in favor of democracy, the economic system will collapse and many social systems will also collapse. The change of China from a communist country to a more liberal country must be done at a appropriate pace and it cannot be rushed.
