....to do with feminism? I'm from the south and every thing is "old-fashioned" still and guys woo the girls and everything else. But, I have a friend that lives up north and I go and visit her and when I'm talking with her and her girl friends they seem more feminist like. I'm not saying this of everybody, but the girls I was talking to doesn't like it much when guys do things for them because they think that the guy is saying to them that he thinks they are "weak" and can't do it for themselves.

What are your opinions?

Americans have somewhat rejected traditional male/female roles.....it makes all of the romance rules pretty awkward.

Feminism and feminization of men has "something" to do with it. Political correctness doesn't help. As a man....the rules keep changing.

THere is an excellent book that I read about american the spirit and attitude of americans. You can find this commentary about the book at:

“Hardball” host Chris Matthews’ latest book celebrates those who “work hard and play by the rules.”

*When you think about it, we Americans are different. That word “freedom” isn’t just in our documents; it’s in our cowboy souls. We are the most freedom-loving people in the world. We’d rather have guns than live under a government powerful enough to collect them all

*we continue to see life as a battle between the good guys and the bad guys. That’s one reason Europeans love looking down on us. Why can’t we be more sophisticated,

being a NEW YORKER, enjoy what you have down south, being treated as a lady is something most women don't know anything about,to be whined and dined is very nice
