Yes, I think so, but am no expert. Actual physical pain, sure have a good cry, heal, feel better. Emotional, internalised pain which leads to physical pain is another matter. When that starts coming out, boy it hurts. When you cry until your face stings, your body shakes, your heart races, you look as if you've been punched in the face, and no amount of crying eases the pain! When you are hurting so much that you can't stop yourself even if you are in public, or when its so bad that when you wake up you are still crying from when you went to bed, the longer it goes on then it leads to physical pain......I guess then you have to cry it out and cry it out, look at all that is making you feel so bereft and try and deal with what you can change, accept what you can't and reassure yourself that at some point, the physical pain caused by the emotional pain is actually hurting more, then you can get angry find your strength and you will gradually start to feel better and begin to cry less....so I guess the answer is yes! Good luck if this is something you're going through at the moment (email if you want to), and if it's homework then you have an answer from someone who's lived it. x

Yes, most definantly.
After being hurt physcially or mentally a good cry often helps not only heal the hurt but heal the soul especially if you have someone to cry with, that understands.
Also if you like touchy feely things go to a cuddle party, i hear they do wonders to help heal the heart, body and soul.

Crying releases a great deal of physical stress.
This may sound silly but if you just can't bring yourself to do then slice an onion up. It starts the tears and relieves the stress.
Plus you don't need to explain why you are crying (that is the worse part of crying).

Absolutly. When my father died last year the pain was so imense, it had to be let out somehow and it came out as crying. Howling sometimes. There is nothing like a good cry, sometimes you just have to totally let go and go with the emotion, then deal with grief or whatever when you are feeling more rational.

Yes. It's an emotional release and will allow healing to come. Cry when you need to. It's the way we are made.

i think emotional pain can ease the burden we feel towards a certain situation & person who had hurt us. it's a great way to release a bad pain & heals to regain a good relationship in time.

i only wish i could cry more! it's the best thing you can do when you are so utterly fed up with all life has to throw at you. why did god give us tear ducts if we weren't meant to use them! i think its the natural way of getting rid of pent up feelings/emotions. cry as much as possible, as corny as it sounds you will be happier in the long run. just watch it's a wonderful life, beaches, or steel magnolias if you need a helping hand!! x

I think so one of the ways I find helps is to go and walk along the seashore on a wet windy day when I can bawl my eyes out and it makes me feel a whole lot better and helps me put things in perspective try it you will feel better and all things pass.

I don't understand why we cry, it doesn't do anything to release the pain or feeling. All it does is make your nose run and your eyes get all red and puffy. Crying is a waste of time.
