jeff buckley was deffinately underrated - although he died probably just as he would have made it more mainstream.
the hotknives were a fantastic band as well, though i think they wanted to stay out of the mainstream and being overrated.

Queen of course (although I am a bit partial to them) Jack Black's voice is also unbelievably good (although the band's name escapes my mutated brain) I always loved Lita Ford also....(ok I'm old)

One of my favorite artists is Tori Amos. Her voice is beautiful. She has a very small, but devoted fan base.
