Should the Democrat politicians admit to making a mistake backing up the above two Congressman for having actual physical relationships with pages before condemning Foley?

map: That's right he resigned. The above two did not. Yet, the Dems are STILL talking about it. How do you know they didn't know? Someone kept those IM's for 3 years.

Franks: There was underage "goings on" at his apartment if you recall.

You know its funny.....Foley is simply being accused of wrong doing. Yet to be convicted but Studds and Frank were guilty and admitted.

I'd love to hear what Foley is guilty of. Define it what did he do? Sending emails asking another man what he wants for his birthday. I mean look out, thats a clear crime.

Having 3 YEAR old instant messages, I mean come on, who keeps those ? Turned over to the FBI by a Soro's funded also

Some of you might say then why did he resign, he has honor for his party. If he is guilty, he should face the full wrath of the law, until then, he is simply innocent until proven guilty. Being a victim of a smear campaign

Barney Frank did not have a physical relationship with a page. He did, however, befriend someone (Steve Gobie) who in turn ran a prostitution ring out of Franks' apartment when he was not in town. After Frank learned of Gobie's activities, he reported it to the House Ethics Committee, who found no evidence that Frank had known of or been involved in the alleged illegal activity.

Gerry Studds DID have a physical relationship with a 17 year old page in Washington DC (where the age of consent is 16). He admitted to it, and was censured by the House accordingly.

Here's what I don't understand: Republican Representative Dan Crane was also censured at the same time as Gerry Studds for having sexual relations with a congressional page. And just like Gerry Studds, Dan Crane did not step down, and ran for reelection.

And Dan Crane was a Republican.

Perverts are perverts, and they're found on both sides of the aisle.

Ask Daniel Crane or Bob Packwood.
Just to refresh your memory Foley resigned before any Democrat said a word about it.
UPDATE-Daniel Crane did not resign. He ran for reelection and was defeated.
As for what the democrats knew in relation to Foley, the burden of proof is on you to show they know, not on me to prove a negative. You have some evidence? Put it on the table.
None of this. Not Packwood not Foley not Studds not Crane or anyone else has anything to do with the lack of response of the republican leadership. You're trying to deflect attention from the fact that the republican leadership, led by Hastert, dropped the ball big time.

should they? probably...but what politicians should do is never done, on both sides. I think the biggest discrepancy, besides what the poster above me said, is that the republicans talk like they have a lease on morality...and it turns out they don't. Should they admit that they are hypocrites? yes. Will they instead bring up CLinton EVERY time there is any sort of scandal from republicans? yes. It's a dirty game, and we have yet to see what all of the facts are. Judging by the fact that he resigned, soemthing tells me big trouble in little china....

No, they never make mistakes, and Sandy Berger did not smuggle 9/11 documents out of the national archives in his sock!!!

Dems hope if they repeat it often enough you'll start to believe it. They've got the Daily Show crowd brainwashed, next stop the rest of AMerica!!!

Sure, as soon as the Republicans admit that they backed a pedophile and quit blaming it on the Democrats.

Oops, I forgot....Republicans are incapable of admitting mistakes, they can only shift blame.
Oh well.

This article gives you the difference in the Studds case:

Franks never touched a page or minor....might want to check your facts on that one. Not that I expect you will.

It would be nice... But the Jackass party caters to that lobby too much to do so.
