My mother was an emphesema sufferer. Her condition was made worse by worry.
Is your father worrying about something?
If the palpatations are mild, then maybe talking about what's worrying him might help calm them down.
If the palpatations are more than than, and happening regularly, take him to the doctor or A&E as soon as you can to get a check up. JHe may need his medication reviewing. They may still say it's just because he's anxious about something - but better safe than sorry - and it will ease your own worry.

Since your father has emphezema, then he is most likely on medication, I am asthmatic and some of the medication I take, people with emphezema take also and these have a side effect of palpations. But his doctor should be notified, immediately.

I would get him to the doctors as palpatations can be a warning sign. Your fathers emphezema could be putting stress on the heart. Get it checked ASAP!

Palpatations need to be checked out by a family physician, who may then refer him to a cardiologist. NO home remedies or diagnosis for something as potentially serious as this!
